My passion for this Big Idea
Aggie Square is a dream that’s quickly becoming a reality.
The innovation ecosystem we’re building on our Sacramento campus will be a home for UC Davis’ key research and academic programs and an incubator for start-ups. And that’s just the beginning. It will promote the expertise faculty can bring to companies through partnerships, licensing agreements and other ventures. I also envision tremendous opportunities for students who are seeking internships and employment.

Ultimately, Aggie Square will be a place to showcase anything and everything that benefits the university, the community and business. That includes UC Davis’ expertise in health and food, arts and humanities, science and technology, and so much more.
Aggie Square will be a genuine urban ecosystem. This Big Idea offers a tremendous opportunity to join together in building a live-learn-work-play hub. Aggie Square will boost Sacramento as an economic driver – and establish a new center of innovative thinking for the region.
