My passion for this Big Idea

“Water touches all of our lives daily in many ways, from the water we drink, the food we eat, how we treat wastes, and the world’s ecosystems. Almost any subject can be seen through how we work with water. No single person or academic field solves these water problems alone – it takes many people and a variety of perspectives and expertise, working together.

“Water touches all of our lives daily, from the water we drink, the food we eat, how we treat wastes, and the world’s ecosystems. UC Davis is the most comprehensively prepared place for developing solutions to global water challenges.”

The World Water Initiative Big Idea will benefit people locally––with the intention to take our learnings and research globally to help solve water problems in the test-bed of California and worldwide. We have the expertise to help influence legislation and public policy, to provide better and more equitable solutions to pressing water issues.

Many disciplines must come together to solve global water issues. UC Davis is the most comprehensively prepared place for developing solutions to global water challenges.”
